The third-party sellers are the producers in Amazon’s platform ecosystem. Nonetheless, Amazon are developing their own products which makes them also a producer of their own platform. There are allegations that even though it’s against the company’s policy Amazon have used non-public data of the production of their new stock. This unethical practice not only can strain the relations between the external producers and Amazon itself, but also can ruin the brand equity and sales of the goods Amazon is producing.

I think that Amazon wants to push its product above their third-party producer’s and is ready to do anything to achieve that.

The fact that a company as big as Amazon has engaged in such unlawful activities means that future digital platforms might experience problems in gaining their future producer’s trust. Moreover, platforms in the making may be more closely monitored when it comes to the accessibility of data they are supposed to have.

I agree on your statement, but it seems to be a very successful strategy for Amazon at the moment. It's very unfair of them to have this competitive advantage over the third-party sellers, but the fact that they hold a very large and diverse community that other websites cannot offer makes the sellers come back to using amazon.
