1.What did he/she study? One concept/ideaMatt Abrahams studies spontaneous speaking and communication anxiety management. His main idea is that anyone can develop concrete skills to respond effectively when speaking on the spot.
Give the right informations, being relevant, as if you were prepared, but you’re not

2. Why interesting for a company? In companies, employees often need to:
- contribute in meetings,
- answer unexpected questions,
- give feedback,
- persuade colleagues or clients.
Strong spontaneous communication improves collaboration, decision-making, and organizational credibility.
If trained on how to communicate efficiently on the spot, informations travel faster and are well understood --> less mistakes, more efficiency

3. What did he/she identify? What is his/her main result?
He identified that communication anxiety is very common, but it can be reduced with practical, simple techniques (e.g., structuring responses, breathing techniques, paraphrasing before answering). His main result : even highly anxious speakers can succeed if they use the right strategies. And even if you’re a good speaker, it is a way to improve your communication skills.

4. Managerial implication
Managers can:
- train teams in spontaneous speaking skills,
- create a culture where mistakes are learning opportunities,
encourage clear and constructive feedback.
Give them access to different training (rethoric for exemple), and make them mandatory or not This builds confidence, collective performance, and quicker problem-solving.

5. Boundary condition
His recommendations work best when:
-the company values open communication,
-individuals are willing to practice and gradually expose themselves,
-the context doesn’t require instant ultra-technical expertise (Abrahams’ methods help manage delivery, not replace missing content).

• What did he/she study? One concept/idea
Matt Abrahams studies and teaches spontaneous communication how to speak effectively when put on the spot. Now he is currently teaching at Stanford here he teaches popular classes in strategic communication and effective virtual presenting He also wrote in 2023 a book, Think Faster, Talk Smarter: How to Speak Successfully When You’re Put on the Spot
• Why interesting for a company?
In organizations, the ability to communicate quickly, clearly, and confidently is critical for convincing clients, handling uncertainty, representing the company, and building strong internal and external relationships. The skills of communications are a necessity in organizations but it’s also most of the time put in the back because generally people don’t have the opportunity to learn. Then you just have to count on your ability to be extrovert and be able to talk in public or you just don’t because you didn’t learn how.
• What did he/she identify? What is his/her main result?
For him anxiety, stress of talking block people so it will block communication between the team. However in an organization talking is necessary so you can grow and be more open. Indeed, practical techniques can significantly improve communication performance and improve the company performance as well. Matt is explaining the solutions that he found in his book so people can succeed when speaking spontaneously, such as navigating Q&A sessions, shining in job interviews, providing effective feedback, making small talk, fixing faux pas, and persuading others.
• Managerial implication
Managers can train their teams in these skills to:
* Improve presentations, pitches, and negotiations
* Enhance employee confidence
* Reduce misunderstandings and strengthen collaboration
• Boundary condition :
His methods are the most functional in environments that have open, collaborative communication protocols. Using his methods in strictly hostile, closed, or hierarchical environments can diminish the effectiveness and require adapting.
