The second course in Macroeconomics introduces students to the functioning and functions of the financial system, studying the role of money, financial institutions and markets, and explaining public intervention to regulate the system and the conduct of monetary policy.

Students should attend courses actively and prepare homework, including studying the chapters of the reference book, preparing short talks and exercises. Homework is specified during class, and usually posted on this page. Students are therefore required to regularly check the updated information on this page.

See the table of contents of the 12th global edition of Mishkin "Economics of the money, banking and financial markets", edition to which refers the reading list below and in the slides (in case of conflicting references the moodle reference is better). On the BIU website you can access the electronic version of the French edition of the book, also available at the university library. If you use the French edition, or other editions, check the correspondence with the reference table of contents. For the English edition see also here: link.
